Chawal Kheer Recipe (Rice)

INGREDIENTS

  1. Full cream milk 1 litre
  2. Rice 100 gms
  3. Sugar 150 gms
  4. Almonds 15 no
  5. Pistachio 15 no
  6. Raisins 20 no
  7. Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp.
  8. Crushed saffron a pinch

Method of Preparation:-

  1. Take a heavy bottom pan and grease it with pure ghee, especially the bottom of the pan.
  2.  Add milk and give it a boil.
  3. Wash rice and add in the boiling milk. Mix properly.
  4. Cook on medium heat, when it starts boiling, lower the heat and cook till the rice gets cooked well and become soft.
  5. Keep stirring in between, and gently mash the rice grains with the ladle while mixing.
  6. Now add sugar and cook on slow heat.
  7. Keep stirring the kheer in between to avoid sticking to the bottom.
  8. Add chopped nuts, saffron and cardamom powder.
  9. Cook for 5 minutes and serve garnished with chopped pistachio. (can be served both hot and cold)
