Moong Dal Ki Burfi Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. Moong dal 250 gms
  2. Khoya 125 gms
  3. Sugar 150 gms
  4. Nuts 10-15 no
  5. Saffron few strands

Method of Preparation:-

  • Clean and soak the dal in water for a couple of hours.
  • Drain out the water and grind to a paste.
  • Put 1 & 1/2 cups water in sugar and prepare syrup of one-third consistency.
  • Remove from fire and keep it warm.
  • Put 4 tbsp. ghee in a vessel and heat it then put in the dal
  • Keep on stirring it till the dal turns a nice golden colour.
  • Put in the Khoya and mix till smooth.
  • Add the syrup and nuts and 1 tsp. cardamom powder.
  • Cook till the mixture turns thick and leaves the sides of the vessel.
  • Put in the essence and remove from fire.
  • Put in a greased thali, level the surface and cover with foil.
  • Cut into any shapes you like when cold.
  • Store in airtight box.
