Sweet Potato Recipe

Ingredients
- Sweet potatoes- 2 big size
- Jaggery- big lemon size
- Salt- 1 to 1.5 tbsp
- Grated coconut- Handful
- Green chilly- 2 nos.
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tbsp
Seasoning Ingredients
- Oil- 3 tbsp
- Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp
- Urad dal- 1 tbsp
- Broken red chilly- 1 no.
- Curry leaves- few
Instructions
Preparation

Chop sweet potato in to medium sized cubes. Slit the green chillies. Keep them aside.

Heat a pan/kadai add 3 tbsp of cooking oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, broken red chilly and curry leaves. When mustard seeds splutter add the chopped sweet potato cubes. Saute for a while.

Now add salt, jaggery, slit green chillies and turmeric powder. Saute well.

Add 1.5 cups of water and let it cook in low flame. Keep stirring in between for even cooking.

When sweet potato cubes turn almost mushy add grated coconut, give a stir and switch off the flame.

Sweet potato palya is ready to serve. Tasty evening snack with hot tea…..
Note:

Do not skip adding grated coconut, it enhances the taste.

This palya should be sweeter, so use only minimum green chillies. Otherwise it turns spicy and cannot be consumed as snack.
